Letter from the PTA President

Dear Washington Elementary Families,

WOW - what a send off. Dr. Nelson spent her last morning at Washington Elementary surrounded by clapping, cheering, and the sweetest notes from your children. Thank you so very much for being such a supportive community. As we promised, the send off for Dr. Nelson was recorded and we have a link here for you to watch. Please enjoy!

I also wanted to let you know that Thursday morning, the PTA provided Coffee and Donuts for all the Teachers and Staff at WES! We wanted to thank everyone for the amazing hard work and acknowledge the challenges they have faced this year. The weather delay sweetened the morning and allowed for more time to love on our WES Staff. Thank you again for being a great community that cares for and supports Washington Elementary.

~ Christina Shaffer, PTA President

Letter from Dr. Nelson

Dear WES Community,

As I write this final message to you, I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of love, support, and kindness you have shared with me in my final days as Principal of WES.

Whether in the cards or emails you sent to me; the phone calls you made to me; stopping by to see me; or joining me for the clap-out, I will carry the beautiful words and sentiments you shared with me in all of those interactions for the rest of my life.

The gifts the WES community came together to present to me have left me speechless. Long after I am gone from WES, I will think about all of you as I put all of these thoughtful gifts to use.

Finally, one last time, I want to thank you for the most precious gift of all that you granted to me -- the time I was able to spend with each one of you working toward the goal of making your child and you feel welcomed, loved, and supported in a school that strives to provide the very best education possible.

As our paths diverge moving forward, always know that I carry thoughts of love and fondness for all of you everywhere I go. I am forever changed because of my five years with you. I will always hope that we will meet again one day.

May all of the children of WES always have good mental and physical health, feel welcomed wherever they go, and know that they are the leaders the world needs right now to make it a better place.

Warmest Regards,

~ Melissa

Hello Washington Families! Becoming a PTA member is the easiest way to support our wonderful school...and it's never too late to join!

The PTA uses a software program called Membership Toolkit to communicate with our school community. We ask all families to enroll or update their family’s information here

Once on the Membership Toolkit site, you have the ability to join the PTA under the “store".  (Even if you do not wish to become a PTA member, you can still have a Membership Toolkit account, receive the newsletters, access the store, and sign up to volunteer your time and talents for future events!)

Washington PTA appreciates your support!
